abuse on women by men is a NO NO!!!

So i sit down and ask myself why i do not have a boyfriend with money to buy me stuff and such. I realize that i REALLY DO NOT NEED ONE. I am not one of those chicks that looks for a guy to buy her stuff, infact you will find once or twice i have bought dudes stuff. I mean not once or twice quite a number of times. So once a upon a time i was dating this guy from coast yes Mombasa. The supposed man quite his job, and since am one of those girls bestowed with success (i do not mean to blow my own horn) he thought that i would support him. 1. I am a student 2. we are not married 3. we are not related 4. so why should i support you? So because of low self esteem, Churchill Omudi(mulika mwizi mara iyoiyo) decided he will hit me. Yes me, Ms Rosy be abused! even my friends could not tolerate that, so of course i ran so fast from that "relationship".
So last week i heard a woman on a local radio station confess that she is being ABUSED to the point that she feels like a child, she stays in that house with a man who hits her so heard she has spots and injuries from a kifagio(broom). So i sat down again, and thought what would make her stay. 1. she has no friends- if she had any, they would encourage her to get out as mine did. 2. she has a low self esteem- inflicted by the abusive man, to belittle her by beating her infront of their kids that she lacks confidence to walk out. 3.she is either going to be killed or is going to kill him- this is because, eventually in her eyes those are the only two options to get out of what feel like a life sentence. So what i say to abused women, there is no love that is painful. Jesus died for us so that the love after that did not have to be painful. So if he hits you once, he will do it again and again. There is no need to stay there. You have the power to determine your destiny. And being soothed after every beating is not love, SHAME on all the women who say that, or try to make excuses for their abusive husbands. For me i am sure Mr Omudi hit me because he could not stand the fact that i was bigger than him financial and economically.
I tell you all right now i am still above him. LOVE IS NOT PAINFUL,PERIOD! COMPRENDE!!!!

Ten Types Of Dancers In The Club

According to Nali Sharon on Ghafla News there are Ten Types Of Dancers In The Club
She said they are: 1. The Person Who Actually Knows How To Dance And Is Making Everyone Else Look Bad. No matter how terrible the DJ, there’s always one person out in the middle of the dance floor who looks like they are auditioning for "Can You Dance". They might be naturally gifted, they might have practiced endlessly infront of their mirrors, they might been in a dance group/class for 15 years–maybe all three–but as entertaining as they are to watch: ultimately we all just want them to sit down. 2. The Ironic Dancer. This person doesn’t have the slightest bit of confidence in their dancing abilities so they carve out a niche for themselves as the fun “club clown.” They might do the helicopter, slide or azonto to make you a laugh, but inside they wish they could effortlessly sway their hips to the beat like their friends. 3. The Awkward Guy/Girl Who’s Trying Not To Look Uncomfortable. Unlike the HOT Guy/Girl, this person knows they can’t dance, but for the sake of their friends or their significant other or their pride, they make a half-hearted attempt. Steer clear of them, they are prone to random fist pumping and jerky movements. They are responsible for most accidental spilt drinks, and they account for about 60% of people at any given club. 4. The Hot Girl/Guy Who Sucks At Dancing But No One Has The Heart To Tell Them. He/she looks like John Allan Namu, like Tero Mdee , but the person dances like Kajairo. I’m sure as hell not telling anyone anything. Are you? 5. The Couple Who Might Be Having Sex On The Dance Floor. Dancing at a crowded club can be kind of stressful–it’s hot, sweaty, people are pushing, throwing elbows–so when you spot an empty corner of the dance floor, you always wanna rush there and claim it as your dance territory. BEWARE: that corner is empty for a reason. There’s probably a suspicious substance on the floor. OR there is a couple humping each other against the mirror, and there will soon be a suspicious substance on the floor. 6. The Girl's Night Out/Birthday Girls/Bachelorette Party. Composed of 5 to 20 women. Once this group hits the dance floor, every member merges into one feathered, sequined creature that winds and steps to the beat in unison and screams “This is our sooooong!” about EVERY song. Steer clear. 7.The Aggressive Song Requester. APPARENTLY this person doesn't have access to a car OR home radio, own an iPod, a smartphone or mp3 player of some sort. Because their ONLY goal when going clubbing is to dance right next to the DJ booth, screaming requests for ONE particular song over, and over, and OVER. But what's usually so baffling is these people are never requesting some obscure Ukoo Fulani Mau Mau track they really want to hear for at least ONCE IN THEIR LIFE in the club. They always want to hear the biggest pop/dance track of the moment. “Play ‘Starships’! Play ‘Starshiiiiiiiips’!” Chic, wait 10 minutes. “Starships” WILL be on the playlist. And it has nothing to do with your annoying persistence. 8. The Person Who’s Dancing To Their Own Song/"White" Dancer This person is alone, eyes closed, so feeling it, gyrating to a rhythm that no one else can hear. A well educated guess says that riddim is called “Ecstasy”, but you really can never be sure. Maybe they genuinely have no sense of rythym! 9. The “Look! We’re Lesbians..... Except Not Really!!!!!” Believe it or not, just grinding with your girls used to be a SURE way to grab attention on a crowded dancefloor. Then “Bend-Over” came out and now you’ve gotta engage in some SERIOUS girl-on-girl PDA to even get noticed. Men out there, don't worry, there are always a few desperate teens prepared to rise to the challenge.
10. The Roving Grinder. Ah yes, everyone’s "favorite" club attendee. This guy roams around the dance floor, casually bobbing his head to the music in between grinding on random women. It's not too clear if his goal is to set a personal grinding record, or if he’s actually a misguided hopeless romantic who believes that someday one of his victims will turn around, look into his expressionless eyes and say, “I love when creepy strangers rub their penises on my back. Let’s start a relationship.”

i make my own money OMERA!!!

Dude says that he has a car,to drive me places, buy me presents, give me fragrances of all kinds!!!he as a house in Runda,a jakuzi n a swimming pooler,a tennis court and a maid that he rules over!!
That is good for you not for me!i have no car i hit route eleven,am up at 6 and return to my heaven at eleven.
I have a one bedroomed house and a gas cooker.i live by myself no maid to play hooker! This is my luxury i do not need yours, yours earned from inheritance n fraud!! when i move to a two bedroomed place i will let you know,it will be by my hands so proud so sure........ IT IS A FEELING YOU WILL NEVER KNOW!!!!

Trade Unions condemn killings in South Africa

Global trade unions have condemned the killing of mine workers in South Africa terming the act as a beating on African democracy. Central Organization of Trade Unions (COTU) Secretary General, Francis Atwoli, said that the unions are stunned by the mass execution by police on innocent striking Lonmin's Marikana platinum mine workers.
According to Mr Atwoli, the workers were exercising their constitutional right by striking to demand for wage rise. “The crime these poor workers had committed was to demand what they felt they were entitled to. The action against these innocent mine workers is indeed tantamount to global impunity,” Mr Atwoli said. The unions through Mr Atwoli said that it is painful that a democratically elected government can go out on the loose and massacre people like criminals. The police violence on the workers in South Africa on Thursday resulted in the death of over 34 people, about 78 wounded and 259 detained during the week-long strike. Mr Atwoli further stated that the trade unions want South Africa president Jacob Zuma to suspend his Commissioner of Police as his Independent Commission, investigates the cause of the mass execution of workers by the police. The Trade unions that consist of International Trade Union Confederation ( ITUC) Brussels, Trade Union Federation of Eastern Africa (TUFEA) and East Africa Trade Union Confederation (EATUC) and COTU, added that the action is unacceptable and is a blow to organized labour globally.

Kenya schools upholding ban on holiday tuition

The ban on holiday tuition by Education Minister Mutula Kilonzo is being adhered to by a girl’s high school in Nairobi. Buru Buru Girls high school was yesterday forced to send back home its form four students after the minister instructed parents and teachers not to take children back to school during the holiday. The students that arrived in uniform and carrying shopping were asked to return home at the school gate by the watchman and some teachers. According to a teacher in the school, the administration decided to send back the students to avoid disrespecting the law. “We are being obedient. We are doing what we were asked to do, so we are sending back the students. The only students in school are those attending the East Africa games, "The teacher said.
The minister wants holiday tuition abolished because it limits pupils' right to enjoy the vacation with parents. It was outlawed in 2009 through a circular by the ministry. Mr Mutula had also argued that other than some teachers deliberately dragging syllabus coverage to cash in on desperate parents who want to make their children pass, the practice was depriving learners of social growth. Education bill 2012 that was presented by the minister was approved by the Cabinet and outlaws extra holiday tuition. About three weeks ago, Mr Kilonzo warned teachers and parents who would take their children to school when schools are on holiday that the law would take its course. The teacher further stated that the minister must be clear on what is expected of the teachers and the parents. According to the teacher, the minister has given many directives on holiday tuition, which are causing confusion among teachers and parents. “We are not sure what the minister wants. Is it okay for form four students alone or just for weak students, and what to him is remedial classes,” the teacher added. According to the Kenya National Union of Teachers holiday tuition helps weak pupils to catch up. The minister had also warned that any head teacher flouting the directive was violating the law

campus girls' room

Different campus, different room number but similar things go on in a campus girl’s room, trust me, I know, I have been there. Of course just as life, there is the good the bad and the ugly that goes on in the room of a campus girl. Girls are different, not only in terms of age but experience as well, different girls enter campus differently and trust me they all leave differently, because of some of the things they go through in the small rooms that could have two, three four or even more girls put together. I can start with the good if you allow me. Some campus girls have made fortunes from their small room in campus. They sell products to their fellow students and make money enough to sustain them and prevent them from being the small girls that run around town with sugar daddies buying them things so they can be considered the “cool” in campus. I know of a girl who in her first year started off by waking up at 3a.m to prepare mandazis that she sold to the “cool” for breakfast. She made enough money that in second year she invested further and started selling, scones, ngumus credit and chapati…by the time she was reaching her fourth year she had gained enough to get a tender for one of the campus shops. You see her now, even the “cool” whom by fourth year have heavy hearts because they are drenched with shame and regret for wasting themselves that they do not recognize how “cool” she has become with her own effort and money. Now that is definitely a good edge from a campus girl’s room. Good is a campus girl who allows bible study in her room, meetings that are related to building oneself spiritually and of course building ones self esteem, trust me, in campus, the people you associate with, determine what you become, so behind a door that is building your image in front of God…rail on girl, that’s a good in a campus girls room. We can not fail to say fan times like meeting up with your girlfriends and having tea while listening and advising each other on better ways, the sleepovers in “p.jz” and making homemade popcorn to feel like you are in a sorority can surely be considered good times…but we know that a campus can not fail to have group discussions in rooms. When in campus, we would rotate our group discussions meetings to different rooms of the members, and in girls rooms, you would always find that gentle touch of a home, that one would have to leave their shoes out of the door so that they do not unclean the clean furry, soft, carpet that has been placed there to make the room feel homely, the family pictures on the wall that make you feel that your are in the presence of your family members, as well as the cup of tea prepared to make the guests feel welcome….oh good times. Cant forget some of the good times that a girl shares with her room mate, may fail to be perfect but a girl will always have a bond with her roommate, for me it was making our hair…I would oil her hair on weekends and she would braid mine, we talked about anything, from boys to lectures to funny times and sad ones, to closing dates and similar notes. we called it…girl hair time, a place where we opened up to the one person that saw us more than other comrades, when we went to bed, how we look when we sleep and how we wake up and how scary or sweet our face is in the rising sun…..oh special times. I must say that I seem to count more of the bad and ugly times more than the good, maybe it’s because they are doubled up. The bad, I cannot forget, being exiled by my roommate and fighting with her just because she wants to entertain her “special” guest. Loathe is an understatement for this, one of my classmates in campus was once found in her bed by her roommate’s “special” friend and forced to leave the room. I must say that it was 3a.m in the morning. She had to walk in the cold to find shelter in her friends room another thing with girls in campus, my room is your room if we are friends, so her friend just scooted over and made room for her.
The room seizes to be of value if it is used to break the morals of a young girl. I have seen girls walk into campus with dignity and leave with low esteem and low value because of what they allowed to happen in their room with their “special” friends. It is in that room that a girl nurses herself for nine months preparing to bring an imbalance to the ratio of supported and supporting in her family. In the same room, a girl allows the wrong people in, that come in with bottles and sticks to prick, to make her mind dazzle and she falls prey to the thing she has been warned of constantly by people from home and in school and just recently the president of this country warned her about it. Yes, in that 6 by 10 room, she begins to break what she has taken so long to build. That small room could change her life. The ugly in a girls room is when she picks the prick that will treat her like a punching bag to build an ego that has no foundation. A girl in my time at campus was thrown out of a window from her first floor room by her “special” friend, after engaging in an argument, another was found dead in her room, apparently she had committed suicide after finding out she had what the people there called “ukedi”. Yes, in that 6 by 10 room, she lay there lifeless, because of what that room allowed her to do. A girl I know was constantly in the dispensary because, the reason her heart beats, was beating her to the point that she cannot attend classes, but beat herself in a dispensary bed, on the reason as to really why is her heart beating, why why…..all behind the doors of a campus girls room. What about the plots and evil wicked plans that girls come together to make against their fellow girl comrades. The gossip and hate speech as well as the rumors and dirt bits about others, that in this case we could consider innocent, that spoil their image and lower their esteem: this is a bad from a campus girls room. This is my image from behind and in front of the door of the room, I have seen and done just as other campus girls but like I said in the beginning different girls different story, my story may be similar or different but you would not know it……my door remains closed.

A LETTER TO MY FUTURE DAUGHTER

Dear {still unsure of your name} Greetings from the years when you are just a thought, and your conception not yet a plan made. The years when me, your mother, is young and going through the final stages of my youth. I write this letter to you at this time, because it is at this time that I know and feel how you feel or will feel about yourself when reading this my letter. If you are reading this, you must be in your early teens, when you think I am such a bugger boo and you do not want to talk to me. I understand, I was there also just ask your grand mother and Aunt Carol they will tell you all about it. I hope by now you are acknowledging that as I write this I am in the same position you are in, in whatever year it is. I must tell you that the genes in our family are very strong and am therefore almost 80% sure that you are a chubby girl. I write to you my love to help you at this time. Being chubby as I like to call it, is not a bad thing at all, and let no one tell you any different. I am at this time chubby and when I tell you what I am about to, just know that I am talking from experience, so be prepared. I hope you know that the fairest of all ladies in the 18th century Lilly Langtry was about 180 pounds, that is about 90kilograms, you are probably around 70kg, so just imagine if at her time she was 20 kg more than you, and she was the most beautiful, then you must be just as good my dear. I will not lie my love, your youth years will be your most difficult, I write to you to prepare you because I love you and would not want any harm to come upon you. You may have started noticing that you are slowly changing, your physique you’re curvier and your skin has started to glow more than some of your friends. Do not worry sweetheart, it is normal for you as it is for me know when I write this. By now there are those that call you fat others plus size others overweight, do not take it personal, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, just the same way you think some people are malnutrition, others skinny and others slim. Just note that each has a different meaning, being fat means you’re gluttonous, being plus size means you’re big in size but healthy and being overweight means that you’re BMI{body mass index} is imbalanced, that is your height does not support your weight{but you can handle that}. If you do your research well my love, you will find out that women never valued skinniness and only started to value it, to literally fit into a society that was male dominated, they wanted to “occupy less space” because of their insecurities to male chauvinism. If , as I write this letter to you my dear, the Constitution of Kenya has increased women rights and representation in running the country , so I can only hope that the country is being run by a lady and that Thika Road is not the only super highway. I mean, there is no need to “occupy less space” so no need to be skinny, accept you the way you are. Let no one mock you and put you down because of your genes my love. At this time I write to you, I have not only swum in the national team but have climbed Mt. Longonot and also hopefully will climb Mt. Kenya before I plan for your birth. Yes my dear, at my 70 something kilogram, so there is nothing you cannot do, so get up off that couch and start working yourself. Yes my dear, you will sweat more than your counterparts and have to put in more effort but it will all be worth it. So what if you sweat more, if today we have products that can help with that I can only imagine what you have. Yes I know you have started noticing “XY chromosome species”. It is also normal at this time of your life. It will also not be an easy task my love, but I tell you, you will come out of it stronger than when you went in. I am not sure what the species of your time is like but of my time, they are not like in your grandmothers time or my grand mothers time, but be aware that what I may go through with the species may not be similar to you, but like I said I want you to be prepared, if the species is lowering your esteem, then just know it is not right. NO ONE is supposed to lower your self respect and esteem my love, especially not of the species, and I believe you have brothers “make use of them” in your favour against……….
Black species like chubby girls than other species, that’s the perception that people in my society have, but it is not a proven fact, so my baby girl, if you fall and its not black do not hold back, there is no greater joy in ones life than proving the majority wrong, you have the power to do so my dear, but tread carefully, another perception Is that the broke of the species also like chubby chubby to feed on their low self esteem, but with high esteem girl, you will never have to deal with this. Queen Latifah at this time is not only chubby chubby but is also the richest chubby chubby lady in the world. She is ranked first in the plus size celebrities others including Model Kate Moss and Model Tacara. She is an actress, musician and model; I used Google to get this, whatever internet search device you have you can look them up. I build my confidence from such knowledge, that though Queen Latifah went through a tough childhood as an obese girl, she came out of it, not slimmer but bigger in her heart and in her mind. My dear I pray you find knowledge not only in my letter but in some other person that will help guide you, for you are not alone in this stage. Please do not give me a grand daughter at the wrong time, I believe that I am still young at heart when your are young physically…..I want things to go right for you, not perfect but right, and giving me a grand child out of wedlock is not something I would want for you my daughter. Sometimes my love, you will hurt and feel low, just know that I went through it and so did Queen Latifah and Aunt Carol. I hope that now you know when I will start insisting on asking what is the matter with you and you want to bang the door on my face, its not that I want to bother you, it is that I Love you and I care, and I want things to go right for you, but maybe I deserve it, I did the same to your grandmother. Its karma I guess. I know you must be multi talented, I am and so is your grandmother, the genes again I say. Don’t be too proud because my love, pride comes before a fall, but let it be the basis of your strength and purpose in life, you have the gift use it do not abuse it. I walk past a lame man on the street every morning on my way to work, yes my dear, am working already, maybe if you took sometime and lose the attitude and come and talk to me I will tell you lots about me that you may not know, just ask my love. Every morning, I find the man in the same position, with a smile on his face begging me and others for a shilling to help him out. I do sometimes give him other times I just say hi to him. Imagine my dear, He is lame and in a lot of hardships but he can still manage a smile, in the morning when he may not even have eaten breakfast let alone diner. If you can walk, talk, dance, run, swim, and earn a living then what would be the reason not to smile? I ask myself this question every day, ask yourself and find an answer………. I started with the hard times dear, so that by the end of reading this letter you will be smiling. So much good will come out of your youth just as it is coming out of mine. You will meet great people, great friends and have good times with them. Your Aunt Sophie, am hoping is still alive and kicking and that she is still my best friend, we had some good times me and her, we cried together laughed together and sometimes fought but at the end we still came out closer. Value your friends my dear, but take note of true friends, untrue friends and quittances. One thing I tell you my dear, is that true friends will always show themselves, you will just know. Those people who just want your resources and you only want theirs bring no value to your life.
I am having fun in my youth my dear, living each day as if it is my last. When I love dear, I love with all my heart, and I am very happy when doing so. It is fun to have fun in your youth but do it responsibly, because too much of everything is dangerous you know. Just a few words from my big heart my daughter, I hope after you read this you will run into my arms. Just know I will embrace you no matter the time of day or night. I have not started planning for you my love, but just know you are already somewhere in me: I am yet to find you, maybe in……….. Only God knows when. With Lots of Love, Your Mother.

Presidential aspirant talks to farmers

Presidential Aspirant Martha Karua urged farmers to practice investment and innovation in farming practices to generate increased food security for the country. The aspirant that had launched Food Security as one of her Six Policy Pillars in her bid for the presidency seat said that the Government should protect the farmers from inflation and losses caused by weather changes to ensure that there is minimum wastage and increased production. The Gichugu MP added that Kenya has failed to reach its desired potential as a world agriculture producer because of high costs on farm inputs and climate change. “The effects of climate change demand that we shift from our dependence on rain-fed agriculture, as it is unsustainable. We need to change our practices,” Ms Karua said. Ms Karua urged the farmers of Trans Nzoia County to focus on the export market to get better returns and asked stake holders to provide sustainable market-based solutions in order to attract more people into investing in agriculture. The Aspirant that toured Kachibora, Sibanga, Moi’s Bridge, MaliSaba among other places in the county said that Kenya needs to compete with the world’s top producers of agricultural and food commodities, to achieve its greatest potential as a leading agriculture producing nation. “The United States of America, France and Netherlands remain top exporters of agricultural produce. We must borrow their best practices and benchmark with them or else we will become more food insecure as our population grows,” Ms Karua said. The Narc-Kenya leader that is also set to take her campaigns to Turkana and Pokot counties this week said that she seeks to ensure access to quality food and nutrition for all Kenyans. The Aspirant concluded by stating that her campaign was of discussing issues and solutions for Kenyans and not of dishing out cash.

fight by Ilkarekeshe group trust and Oloololo game ranch limited company over land

Illegal evictions and crimes committed in the struggle for land must be taken seriously by the government according to the trusted society of human rights alliance. The alliance highlighted the dispute over land found along the Maasai National Park between the Ilkarekeshe group trust and Oloololo game ranch limited company. According to the human rights alliance, on 23rd Sept 2003, the Ilkarekeshe group trust was evicted illegally; without a court order by the directors of the game ranch company. They further claimed that Jackson Kipas was shot in the land fight, when the police officers sided with Samuel Tonai, former director of National Security Intelligence Service (NSIS) who was also a director of the game ranch company. The human rights organization wants the government to charge the police officers involved in the killing of Mr Kipas and the destruction of property worth millions. The land titled Oloololo adjudication section was registered to the trust group on behalf of the Siria Maasai community in 1975. The land was to be divide in 1992, but the operation failed when the Ministry of Land cancelled the sub dividing process and the land remained a trust land. After years of fighting with the Oloololo game ranch Limited company, the Ilkarekeshe group was issued with a title deed on 15th December 2011 by Sam Ongeri, Minister of land and settlement. The human rights alliance is concerned with the delay on the hearing of the murder case at the court and the conviction of the police officers who committed the crime. They said the case was transferred from the Kilgoris law court to the Kisii high court, and the inquest report on cause of death of Mr Kipas has never been revealed to the family. The alliance insisted that the land belongs to the community through the Ilkarekeshe group trust, and transactions with others are illegal and unauthorized. They vowed to move to the high court, to petition the court over the ownership of the Maasai Mara Oloololo adjudication section.

Kenya politicians should be vetted

The Kenya Human Rights Commission insisted that aspirants of elective public office should be investigated and cleared by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission before their names appear in the ballot papers. The commission said they are expecting Constitution legislations to establish a proper vetting system in accordance with Article 10 on Nation Values and Principles and Chapter six of the Constitution. According to the Kenya Human Rights Commission (KHRC) the vetting system would ensure that a candidate presents ten certificates or letters of clearance to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to be allowed to run for office. Atsango Chesoni, Executive Director KHRC, said the purpose is to ensure a free and fair election, integrity of the leaders and adhering to the leadership and integrity bill. “We have narrowed the fundamental vetting principles to a ten point clearance check-list. It must be met by aspiring individuals. We do not want Kenyans to feel nervous after every five years,” said Ms Chesoni.
The check list states that all aspirants must be tax compliant, have a certificate from the Ethics and Anti-corruption commission, clearance from the National Intelligence Service and a clearance letter from the chief registrar of the judiciary. “We ask an aspiring clerk or judge whether they have cleared their Higher Education loan, for a certificate of good conduct, but someone who wants to hold the country in their palm we ask nothing. Infact, they should have more strict standards,” said Atsango. The KHRC has partnered with other civil society groups as well as the Law society of Kenya (LSK) and the IEBC to ensure the list is adhered to by all aspirants. Collins Odhiambo, Deputy Secretary parliamentary affairs and legislation LSK, said LSK would investigate acquisitive information provided to them on aspirants and take them to court if information is found credible. “We want to raise the bar of sanity of election, people we feel do not meet the ten check criteria are disgracing the electioneer process and we will take court action, said Mr Odhiambo. KHRC further stated that they are compiling a profile of aspirants that have been mentioned severely in official and state records for corruption and lack of integrity while in office. Ms Chesoni said that the list of shame of names was obtained from various government commissions formed in the past to investigate allegations against the aspirants. “As a nation we stand condemned, the list of shame was given with recommendations and action to take, but we did nothing. However, the list shows we are not starting from zero,” said Ms Chesoni. The commission that was addressing the press at the launch of the Electoral Process Monitoring Centre in their offices said that chapter six of the constitution states that the conduct of state officials must honor the state.

equity provides mentors for young people

do not fear false pastors

A pastor who was exposed for paying people to give false testimonies in his church should not be feared according to a Christian books publisher.
According to Stephen Nyadida, an executive of the Word Alive Publishers, God can use unrighteous people to pass his message.
“The word of God says that in the end times there will be false prophets who will come in his name. What Pastor Njoroge did is abominable, however if he is speaking Gods word, he is passing a message,” Mr Nyadida said
The publisher said that if Christians had a big understanding for God they would not be easily manipulated by false prophets like Pastor Michael Njoroge.
“People should see the biblical perspective; if you give, God alone will determine what you receive not a man, “Mr Nyadida said.
Pastor Michael Njoroge is said to have paid a commercial sex worker to give a false testimony of how he had healed her deformed mouth.
“At a time when Christianity is being fought, he has given Islam and Buddhism an upper hand in the struggle, “said Mr Nyadida said.
The executive addressed the press at the Nation Centre Nairobi where he presented a book that according to him would help to bring a clear picture to Christianity.
Mr Nyadida said that the book “Preachers of a Different Gospel” written by Femi Adeleye a Nigerian pilgrim, will provide guidance to Christians who have lost faith due to false prophets out to get their money.
According to him, the book examines the appeal to use the gospel as a means of gaining wealth, which has eroded many African churches.
“Christians need to be enlightened. This book will assist to enlighten insecure Christians, “Mr Nyadida concluded.

a teachers strike again?

Post Primary Education Teachers have given the government a notice to increase their salary by 100 percent or risk a country wide strike.
The teachers, through the Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET), yesterday said they will implement industrial action on September 5, 2012 if the government fails to adhere to their demands and increase the basic salary and allowances.
The union said that the Ministry of Education, Ministry of labor, Salary and Remuneration Commission and the Teachers Service Commission have been aware of their requests and their salary discrimination complaints since May, but have failed to respond.
Mr Omboko Milemba, National Chairman KUPPET said that the last proper teacher pay rise was in 1997, and those that have followed, have been subjected to splitting between the basic salary and allowances.
“We cannot agree to be referred back to a 16 year old agreement. We do not want a split, the basic salary must be increased by 100 per cent and allowances increased as well,” the Chairman said.
The union said that the teachers have been affected adversely by inflation, and therefore require more income to sustain themselves and to motivate them to work better.
Mr Milemba further added that the government is creating discrimination among workers by allowing for a teacher to be paid less than a civil servant, yet they hold the same position.
“This discrimination is unacceptable and we therefore call for harmonization of pay for all government workers. Infact our request for 100 percent salary increase is reasonable and it can be done, then we can have harmony, “The Chairman said.
Akelo Misori, secretary general KUPPET, said that they had given the government and the TSC enough proposals for them to respond to and avoid being pushed to strike.
“We have now given the government and the TSC until August 31, 2012 to engage us on these issues. We have mobilized teachers from all over the country. We will not take less than 100 percent increase on basic salary,” Mr Misori said.
He further stated that they had been promised an increase in salary after the creation of the Salary and Remuneration Commission.
“It is over a year since that commission was formed.  We have waited for over a year and still we have no increments whereas others have received them,” The secretary General said.
The teachers are demanding an increase in basic salary as well as in commuter, house, responsibility and extraneous allowance

sort yourself before you go to nairobi parks

Visitors to the Central and Uhuru parks will now have to fend for themselves after the City Council of Nairobi evicted traders operating within the park environs.
A notice given to the traders by Leah Oyake, Director of Environment states that degradation of the parks, loss of order and high levels of insecurity are the causes of the withdrawal of their permits from July, 30 2012.
One of the evicted traders said that licenses to operate within the parks expire on December, 31 2012 and the council is being unjust withdrawing them before the due date.
According to documents provided by the trader, they have paid at least six thousand shillings to acquire the City council of Nairobi Business permit and the Department of environment clearance certificate for issuance of a trading license, to operate within Central and Uhuru Park.
“We have paid to work here, how then can we be involved in these insecurity issues. If there is disorder it is the council that should bring order, they should also bring security and not involve us, “the trader said.
The trader added that the notice received last week on Wednesday was responded to by a letter from the traders to the Director of Environment.
“When we go there, they say they are in a meeting. We are still waiting for their response, before we plan our demonstration,” the trader said.
The notice further states that “the withdrawal of permits will give the council an opportunity to develop a framework where traders will be able to do their activities without compromising the primary purpose of the exceptional recreational grounds.”
Traders sent off by the council include photographers, soda and confectionaries, ice cream venders, swings and bouncing castle operators.

no traders in city parks

The city council of Nairobi said that the Uhuru and Central park traders are the cause of the degradation and high insecurity in the parks.

Mr Marube, the public relations officer of the council said that the traders breached the agreement of the work permit when they indulged in activities that led to the depletion of the parks value to the public.

“Every work permit and licenses has terms and conditions that must be adhered to when operating a business. These traders have breached the terms and therefore forcing us to revoke their licenses.” Mr Marube said.

The traders were issued with a withdrawal of permits notice on Wednesday July 25, 2012 from the Director of Environment, which required them to seize their operations from Monday July 30, 2012.

The notice further states that alarming levels of degradation, loss of order, high and rising levels of insecurity all attributed to trading activities are the cause of the withdrawal of permits.

One of the traders however termed the move by the council as unfair and unjust, siting that they should not suffer for the councils failed works.

“We have paid to work here, how then can we be involved in these insecurity issues. If there is disorder it is the council that should bring order, they should also bring security and not involve us, “the traders said.

Documents provided by the trader, show that each trader has paid at least six thousand shillings to acquire the City council of Nairobi Business permit and the Department of environment clearance certificate for issuance of a trading license, to operate within Central and Uhuru Park.

The traders responded to the notice through a letter addressed to the Director of Environment that expressed their grievances to the issue.

“We have gone to seek audience with the director, but they always say she is in a meeting. We are still waiting for the response, before we plan our demonstration,” the trader said.

The notice given to the traders further states that “the withdrawal of permits will give the council an opportunity to develop a framework where traders will be able to do their activities without compromising the primary purpose of the exceptional recreational grounds.”

“The traders turned the park to a business premises whereas its objective is to provide recreational facilities,” Mr Marube concluded.

The park traders sent off by the council include photographers, soda and confectioneries, ice cream venders, swings and bouncing castle operators.

Christian women group not a campaign platform

A women’s Christian group has said it will not support the political aspirations of a presidential aspirant and female assistant minister.
Christian Women of Kenya said Martha Karua and Housing Assistant Minister Margaret Wanjiru may not get their support if they fail to meet the organization’ principles of leadership.
Vice chairperson Judy Mbugua said they will not support political aspirants who fail to voice godliness in the nation moments after the two presided over the launch of the organization.
“We encourage women to go into politics; if they meet the standards we want, we will support them. The principles of the Christian women of Kenya must first be met,” Ms Mbugua told the Sunday Nation.
Ms Mbugua also said that any politician seeking their support will first be vetted to ensure they reach the organizations and church standards of good leadership.
According to the vice chairperson, aspirants must Be Godly; God fearing, they must love the people of Kenya and must uphold ethical value in all they do.
“Women empowerment must been seen in the aspirant as well as the ability to advocate for people’s rights. I cannot judge right now if there is any politician that has met the principles,” Ms Mbugua added.
The Christian Women said that they are looking for lawyers to explain the constitution to women; so that they know their importance in the country as voters and leaders..
“As women there is something we can do. We can vote. We are using this organization to restore our country,” Ms Mbugua said.
Ms Mbugua added that there is need to educate women in order to avoid foolish voting, bribery and bad leadership in the country that has characterized itself in the past.
“All the people came as Christians; this is not a political campaign platform. We are going to visit 47 counties in the next one year to spread peace and voice godliness to the nation,” MS Mbugua concluded.

GMOs are not bad said the Minister

The Minister for higher education, science and technology last week said that genetically modified organisms (GMO) will help to ratify agricultural issues that cause losses to farmers.
Prof Margaret Kamara said that GMOs will help to maximize production of agriculture, protect the environment and improve human welfare that is diminished by the African plaques such as drought, Malaria and Tuberculosis.
Prof Kamara added that it is important for Kenyan scientists to conform the safety of the GMO to justify them to gain public confidence.
” It is important for the Kenyans to have a clear understanding of what they will be using. They have the right to information, GMO products should be labeled efficiently. Lack of knowledge will kill the GMO debate” Prof Kamara said.
The National Bio-safety Authority (NBA) chairperson, Prof Miriam Kinyua, said that scientist would remain competed to what is right based on science and technology.
“We want to come out with a result that will realize our goal; to be able to feed our country and increase income generation,” said Prof Kinyua.
Ms Kinyua added that though the application deadline for commercialization had passed, the NBA is still waiting for applications from either the Kenya Agricultural Research Institute (KARI) or the Monsanto Biotechnology Company that pre tested the GMO products to be used in Kenya.
“Once we get the applications, then we will decide the suitable supplier. We do not want a foreigner operating solely, in case of anything, they may flee and yet someone must be held accountable,” added Prof Kinyua.
KARI later confirmed that they would be sending their application to the NBA by September, 30 2012.
Prof Kinyanjui said that it is only after 90 days of receiving the application and approving it, that the supplier will be able to start distribution to farmers.
“Once they apply we will check if the tested event is the same as the one they want to supply to farmers. We may approve before the 90 days but regulations say we wait,” concluded Prof Kinyanjui.

Small scale traders want the chinese to go back home

Small and medium scale traders yesterday marched to the Prime Minister’s office to protest the influx of Chinese retail traders in Kenya.
The traders held a procession from their business premises in Eastleigh to the premier and then to parliament to present petitions on their grievances, caused by the Chinese.
The petition that is drafted by the Kenya World Wide Importers and Traders Association (KWITA) on behalf of the trader’s states that the Chinese traders are bringing unnecessary competition by importing goods from their country that would otherwise be sold by the Kenyan traders.
KWITA representative Ben Mutahi said that the livelihoods of the Kenyan traders were being threatened by the many Chinese business men.
“We want them to come as investors not as small scale farmers. We are not enemies with the Chinese, but we will not allow this if it is not a government policy. ,” said Mr Mutahi.
The petition further states that the negligence of the Kenya Immigration Ministry has led to an alarming rate of Chinese flowing into the country to do import and retail trade, that will lead to mass unemployment of young Kenyans.
Mr Silas Kibiku a mobile accessories supplier insisted that the Chinese should not be allowed to trade as retailers but instead trade only as suppliers.
Mr Kibiku added that it is unfair that the Kenyan government allows the Chinese to hawk in the streets yet Kenyan traders cannot do the same in China.
“They are hurting us and yet they have no work permits. They supply us with goods and retail them to our customers. Who will we sell to then,” Said Mr Kibiku.
The Kenya traders also complained to the Chinese government on their laxity to issue visas of not more than two weeks to them, allowing them to visit China and get products to sell to Kenyans.
They insisted that the Chinese are reluctant to give Kenyan traders visas so as to provide an avenue for the Chinese traders to come to Kenya and sell their products at a cheaper price.
George Ngugi an electronics trader said that in the past he would be given a visa for not less than six months to do his business, but now he is limited to 14 days.
“The government should ensure foreigners do not do the same work as Kenyans, or else we will be jobless. I need at least 21 days in China to equip myself sufficiently for my business to be fruitful, “concluded Mr Ngugi.
The protesters were addressed by the Dujis Member of Parliament Adan Duale, Ikolomani MP Bonny Khalwale and Nominated Member of Parliament Amina Abdala at the parliament buildings.
Mr Duale said that he had already petitioned the Trade Minister Moses Wetangula on the issue and a discussion on solutions will take place in not less than 5 days.
“We have asked the minister to bring the Chinese to parliament. We should protect our small business people. We cannot allow the Chinese to do our jobs,” said Mr Duale.
Mr Khalwale insisted that the Chinese should only do the jobs that the Kenyans cannot do whereas Ms Abdala emphasized the importance of protecting the small industry against foreigners.
The traders have given the immigration ministry seven days to issue a comprehensive response or they will stage a mass demonstration and take legal action on the Chinese.
